I've been working on some fun projects for my classroom lately! I purchased some cookie sheets & sponge brushes at the dollar store. I already had some chalkboard paint around the house.
It took about 4 coats to get them covered well. I find it works best to make long brush strokes across the cookie sheet so that you end up with a smooth board. If you use smaller random strokes, you may end up with blobs of paint in certain areas that will make it difficult to write on or may even make it peel.
My original plan was to make one as a sign on my doorway for notes, due dates, reminders, etc. As I was working on it, I decided to get a few more and make some mini chalkboards for my classroom. I already have the kids use cookie sheets when using magnetic letters so they can still use these for that, but they'll also be able to write on them with chalk! Super fun :)
Here is my finished sign for my classroom door! I can't wait to hang it!
I made the ABC & 123 signs in powerpoint & the "string" is made of duct tape!
You can download the ABC & 123 cards for free {here}!
The colors of the cards are prettier than they look in this picture!

I've also been working on my calendar for the school year! Last year, I had it in a binder. I thought about printing it and having Staples bind it into a notebook for me...I just need to look into pricing before I decide!
If you're interested, I have another calendar book like this in my store! Along with the chevron calendar book, there is a polka dot one as well! There are editable options too :)

Last but not least, I have posted a new facebook fan freebie! Make sure you like my facebook page to get the freebie :)
Have a good week!
I still have a few more until school starts (Aug 19) but I have seen a few people are already getting ready to head back! Make the most of what's left of your summer! :)
Cute! Did you use a cricut for the lettering?

Thanks! The boxed letters on the outside were just made in powerpoint. The letters on the inside I just typed onto the picture so that people can get the idea...but yes, I plan to use my cameo to make some messages for it at the beginning of the year! After that, I'll just write on it with chalk or magnetize notes to it! :)
DeleteLove your classroom sign! And I love the idea of individual chalkboards...I bet your class will get a kick out of them!
