Rain, Rain Go Away

Hey bloggers!

I don't know about the weather near you, but it's been a whole lot of rain here in Illinois! Last week we started our weather unit and have continued it this week. I had planned on taking the kids outside for a few days in the afternoon for some weather related activities (wind, clouds, sun & shadows, etc) but all of the rain is making it difficult! So we had an impromptu weather craft today. It's a little something I found on Pinterest from Mama Jenn's blog. She gives some great step by step directions {here}.

Here are a few of our in progress pics!

The kids had a lot of fun with it. Hopefully later this week we can finally get outside! :)

I'm also posting to join in on a fun linky over at A Teacher Without a Class. It's a Dollar Days linky! She's asking people to post great finds for a dollar, or your own items for a dollar! I {love} dollar deals so I had to join in :)

The most popular dollar deals in my store are:

(1) Fire Safety Printables

(2) Polka Dot Substitute Binder Pages

My favorite place to get dollar deals (other than TpT)? The Target Dollar Spot of course!! I used to have to drive about 20 minutes to get to Target (okay, you're thinking that's not too far...but it was just enough out of the way to be annoying) but now a new one was built 10 minutes from my house! MUCH BETTER!...however, not much better for my bank account :) This basically sums it up...
Anyway...I love finding little goodies for the kids there and things for stations. I have a reward tub in my room that I use for miscellaneous things...behavior rewards, work rewards, rewards for a good report from a substitute, etc so I fill it with pencils, erasers, pens, bookmarks, markers, pencil grips, and what not from the dollar spot. I also found some storage bins on this trip.

I also try to find little items that the students can use as math manipulatives. I have found many seasonal (or just fun animal themed) erasers to use for adding, subtracting, and with ten frames. I also like buying the seasonal ice cube trays for the students to use with the erasers for adding & subtracting as well!

Make sure you stop by A Teacher Without a Class to check out others' recommendations for dollar deals...or to add your own! :)

  1. Thank you so much for linking up! This is my very first link party--so I'm kind of nervous and kind of excited at the same time! Awesome deals!

  2. I think that is a law! I never make it out of Target without a basket full of stuff. I got those baskets in lots of different colors.
