Hey bloggers!
I'm joining in with Amy over at The Resource(ful) Room for a fun linky! :)
The first teacher to inspire me was my first grade teacher! Her name was Mrs. Baxter and she was the nicest teacher ever. I was at a new school and was VERY shy. Mrs. Baxter invited me to eat lunch in the classroom with her. Eventually, she invited a few other kids to eat in the room with us to help me make friends. How sweet is that? Now that I know how precious my lunch time is to me as a teacher, I love her even more. My school did career posters every year and that year, I said that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up...and here I am, teaching 1st grade just like Mrs. Baxter. I hope I have the affect on someone just like she did on me.
I also loved my 3rd grade teacher, Miss Clarke. I moved around a lot as a kid and Miss Clarke was my pen-pal for a few years even after I moved out of state. I loved how much she cared about her students.
I'm also very thankful for my mentor teacher that I had when I was student teaching a few years ago. She was/is AMAZING! I learned so much from her and still communicate with her since we teach in the same district (& both first grade, just different schools). I was so fortunate to have someone that was so dedicated to her students, and to me! Thank you, Mrs. Creek :)
And finally, I'm thankful for my partner teacher! I'm thankful that we are able to plan/work/teach together...and genuinely like each other! I consider her a great friend. Even in the craziness that is sometimes teaching, I know that she and I can share a laugh. Thank you, Mrs. DuBois!
Who are YOU thankful for??
