I'm joining in with The Teacher Wife for a Must Have Picture Books linky party!
Here are a few of my favorite picture books! First, Wemberly Worried. I love Kevin Henkes books! This book is great for the beginning of the year. You can talk about feelings at the beginning of the year and bring it back out at the end of the year to talk about how their feelings have changed!Another favorite is Pete the Cat. The kids LOVE Pete books! I think most of them spend the rest of the day/week singing Pete's song after we read it. Great for color review & activities!
Next, is David Goes to School. It's easy to read David books and talk about school behavior. My class this year created charts based on David books for Peacemakers & Peacebreakers. The kids really liked this activity!
Another favorite is Blueberries for Sal. I like to use this one during math. We use it during addition and subtraction introductions. I use small containers and write number sentences on them. The students use "blueberries" (blue beads) to solve the number sentences and record their answers. They have a lot of fun with this activity!
And finally, I like A Bad Case of Tattle Tongue. There's always someone that can benefit from this book!!
So there ya have it! Go check out the other great recommendations!!
Thanks for linking up! :)
