Another school week is upon us! My weekends are going too fast these days. This past week, we did some mixed up fairy tales! We focused on different versions of The Three Little Pigs. The kids loved hearing the different versions and comparing them to the traditional story that they already knew! I created a mini-unit of activities that we did in class to go along with The Three Pigs. Check it out! :)
A great mini-unit for mixed up fairy tales!
Included:
1. Sequence Activity-Students cut out the sentence strips and glue them in order on a blank piece of paper.
2. Writing Page-Students find similarities & differences between 2 versions of The Three Little Pigs by charting the characters, beginnings, middles, and ends.
3. Venn Diagram-Students choose 2 versions of The Three Little Pigs to compare & contrast.
4. Writing Activity-Students write about what they would use to build their house in order to stay away from the Big Bad Wolf.
5. Class Graph-Students graph their favorite version of The Three Little Pigs.
6. Puppets-Students can use these puppets to re-enact the story at a drama
station/center.
