I'm also participating in 4th Grade Frolics' Monday Made It again!
This week I made a new student calendar. I like to have a calendar by the doorway for the students to look at for each month. I only put things on it that apply to them (birthdays, picture day, early dismissal days, no school days, plays, musicals, etc). I have my own calendar for things that apply to me (meetings, appointments, etc).
It's an idea that I found on Pinterest, of course! Check it out {here}. I started with a frame from Walmart...and a bunch of paint card samples from Menards. {thanks, Menards!} I trimmed the samples to the size that I wanted and then mod podged them to paper. After they dried, I applied a layer of mod podge on top of the cards as well. Then I printed a border for the name of the month (I erased it & recentered it after taking this picture), and wrote my name at the bottom.
After everything was dry I put it in the frame! Now it's a dry erase calendar because you can write on the glass! I love it. I have rainbow polka dots in my room, which is why I chose these color paint cards.
Here's another picture...the colors are more vibrant in this one, which is what it actually looks like.
I went in to work on my classroom for a few hours today. It's starting to look really good! I'm excited for it to all be put back together. I'll be in another few days this week and then it should be ready for some pictures! I got back exactly one week from today (for meetings anyway, the kids don't start until the 23rd). Yikes!
Don't forget, today is the last day of the TpT & TNbook Back to School sales! I'm offering 20% off at TpT (use the code BTS12 for an additional 10% off) and 25% at TNbook. Don't miss out on the great deals!
Enjoy the rest of your time off...or good luck if you're already back!
I made the same kind of calendar for my best friend. They are too cute.
