Hey bloggers!
Is it seriously already April?! This school year is flying! I can't believe we are already on spring break! Unfortunately, my husband and I have different spring breaks (his was last week). So that's a bummer. This is what my kitchen counter looked like when he was home alone with our little guy all week...
Seriously.
Anyway...now that I have a little free time I can update you on the happenings in my classroom!
In math we have been working on measurement! The kids have been measuring pictures on paper and items around the room. So far they have been measuring with paperclips, unifex cubes, and mini erasers. Here is a picture of a measurement station that they worked on last week! This one they used erasers from the Target Dollar Spot.
And another picture using paperclips.
They have also been working on missing addends in math!
This activity can be found in my TpT store! The kids chose an equation card and used their blank 10 frame & mini erasers to find the missing number.
We also made some adorable bunny art projects. These are great for easter or just for spring in general! They traced the bunny template onto white construction paper, colored the ears pink, and then glued cotton balls all over the white parts! Then they colored the feet pink (I had these already printed and cut) and glued them onto the cotton. They glued a picture of their face into the center of the bunny's face as well. They turned out really cute :)
My school is connected to a junior high school in our district. The week before break, the junior high kids were having a competition among their "teams." The last few years they have let the elementary kids join in on the fun. We go to a few of their assemblies and get to participate in the games one day. The kids love it. Here are a few pics of the junior high kids helping our littles.
There were obstacle courses, leap frog competitions, relay races, and more. They had a blast!
AND, I totally missed the April Currently with Farley. So here ya go!
We have spent a lot of time in my room representing numbers in multiple ways...if you are looking for some extra practice with this, you can check out my Number Match Cards {they are free!}.
Have a great week!!
My husband and I don't have the same vacation schedules either. I hope you are enjoying your break!

Cait, Always nice to make friends with another 1st grade teacher. Found you through the currently linky an am your newest follower. I'm on break this week and we too, are have a cold snap but hoping for rain (If it can't be nice weather, it might as well rain for we sure need it here in So. Cal.) We had a heat wave last week. Maybe I will get some things on my to do list done after all. Have a great rest of the year.
